CNC lathes

Socay Industry's lathes are mainly focused on modern turn-mill complexes (also called turning centers), featuring multifunctionality and high efficiency, capable of completing multifunctional machining such as turning, milling, drilling, and tapping. We provide traditional servo slant-bed lathes and turn-mill complex machines, and also provide dual-spindle dual-turret machines, where the number of spindles and the number of turrets can be selected by yourself.

How to Choose a Lathe?

If your workshop has milling machines and only requires simple turning processing, then a conventional turret machine can meet the needs. If your machining requirements are relatively complex and you do not have a milling machine at the same time, then a turn-mill complex is a must-have machine. If your machining requirements are overly complex and pursue high efficiency, we provide twin-spindle turning centers. If there are higher requirements, contact our engineers to configure twin-spindle twin-turrets.

FAQ of CNC Lathe

How does a CNC Turn-Mill Machine work?

A CNC Turn-Mill Machine rotates the workpiece like a CNC lathe while powered milling tools perform milling operations.

The machine synchronizes:
C-axis spindle
Live tooling
Y-axis movement
X-axis
Z-axis

Advanced models also include:
B-axis milling head
Sub spindle
Automatic part transfer

allowing complete machining in one setup

What is the difference between a CNC Turn-Mill Machine and a CNC Lathe?

A CNC Lathe mainly performs turning operations.
A CNC Turn-Mill Machine performs:
Turning
Milling
Drilling
Tapping
Boring
Slotting
Helical Milling
Thread Milling
Gear Milling (optional)

without secondary operations.

What is Live Tooling?

Live Tooling refers to powered tools mounted on the turret.
Unlike standard turning tools, Live Tooling rotates independently, enabling:
Milling
Drilling
Tapping
Slotting
Polygon machining

What is the Y-axis on a Turn-Mill Machine?

The Y-axis allows off-center machining.
It enables:
Side milling
Eccentric drilling
Keyway milling
Pocket milling
Multi-face machining

Without a Y-axis, many complex milling operations are impossible.

What is a C-axis?

The C-axis controls spindle positioning.
It enables:
Indexing
Face milling
Polar coordinate milling
Hole positioning
Gear machining

What is a B-axis?

The B-axis rotates the milling head.
It enables:
Angular drilling
Inclined milling
Five-sided machining
Complex contour machining

Can a Turn-Mill Machine replace multiple machines?

Yes.
One Turn-Mill Machine can replace:
CNC Lathe
CNC Milling Machine
Drilling Machine
Tapping Machine

In many applications, it can reduce machine quantity by over 50%

Does a Turn-Mill Machine require a sub spindle?

Not always.
A sub spindle is recommended when:
Both ends of the workpiece require machining.
Complete machining is desired without manual flipping.
High productivity is required.

What maintenance does a Turn-Mill Machine require?

Routine maintenance includes:
Lubrication inspection
Coolant maintenance
Hydraulic system inspection
Pneumatic system inspection
Chip conveyor cleaning
Spindle inspection
Ball screw lubrication
Linear guide maintenance
Tool holder cleaning
Machine calibration
